What Is Commercial Lock Installation?
Commercial lock installation means fitting new locking hardware on a business door — or replacing hardware that is worn, damaged, or no longer secure. Commercial doors are heavier, get used far more often, and answer to fire and exit codes that residential doors do not, so the hardware is different: mortise locks, panic and push bars, door closers, and high-security cylinders built for heavy daily traffic. Because no two businesses are the same, the job starts at the door. We look at the door type, the frame, and how the space is actually used, then fit hardware that matches the traffic it will see and the way people move through the building. Most single-door installations take 30 to 60 minutes; larger jobs are scheduled by the number of openings. Replacement follows the same process. If your existing locks stick, are worn out, are outdated enough to be easy to force, or were never installed correctly in the first place, we remove the old hardware, fit new locks, and leave the door working the way it should.

There are a few clear signs. The locks are worn and no longer operate smoothly, or they are old and outdated enough to be easy to damage. Keys have been lost or stolen. There has been a recent break-in, which shows the current locking system did not hold. The locks were not installed correctly the first time. A rise in thefts nearby, or a move into a new space, are also good reasons to replace them.

Yes. We inspect the locks you already have to determine whether they are secure and working as they should. That inspection tells you whether a replacement is actually needed, or whether the existing hardware can be repaired or upgraded instead.

Usually a rekey is enough. You have no way of knowing how many keys were handed out before you arrived, and rekeying the existing locks makes every one of those old keys stop working while you keep the hardware you already have. A full replacement makes sense when the locks are worn, outdated, or were not installed correctly. We inspect what is there and tell you which of the two you actually need.
